Professional Coaching

Dentistry can be a challenging blend of art, science and business. Most dentists practice in private, or in small groups. Practice management information may not be readily available or within easy reach during your busy day. Often in practice we are busy with many tasks and can lose sight or awareness of places that we are stuck, places which are blocking our growth or satisfaction.

With coaching, we assist in identifying areas which may not be working well and therefore causing unknown stresses – and then creating specific and individualized remedies. We also help with follow through and track results with you. Essentially, we become your coach. We work with you to help realize your desires, and then actualize them. Coaching is for the entire practice: a comprehensive service.

Personal and or Professional Strategizing

Creating strategies is the “little brother” of coaching. This program is designed for people who are strongly motivated and who are confident that they will follow through, yet may not be fully aware of anything more concrete than being vaguely dissatisfied about their current situation. In creating strategies for professional or personal growth, we first interview, then analyze and identify issues, and finally develop a personalized strategy. In this instance, you are then to follow through as prescribed. Your plan is unique, your accountability is your own.

Team Assessment, Team Building, Team Motivation

Team Assessment, Team Building and Team Motivation are multi-day, on site visits. During this process, we will meet your staff and take time to interview each individually. We also meet extensively with you—the doctor—to assess your overall sense of the staff. We then cast up balance sheets of strengths and weaknesses and institute simple techniques and ideas which can be easily instituted – often creating dramatic improvements in staff function and interaction, as well as creating a unified sense of purpose. We also look at a variety of ways to assist in motivating the team to work together toward whatever the goal of the practice is. The focus is to assist in building a healthier more functional team of professionals.

Specific Problem Solving

Many times, a doctor or staff becomes aware of a certain specific issue. It could be new, or it could be an ongoing issue. There are two courses of action we might institute: (1) An off site evaluation and analysis with solutions and methods of implementation or (2) an on-site evaluation with solutions and methods of implementation.

Scripting

Scripting is one of the fundamentals of effective communication in a dental office. An office will create its own idea of how to cater to their public. We will then assist in the development of specific and commonly recurring scripts, which can be used as written or modified to the speaking styles of the staff charged with the responsibility of both giving out and taking information.

On-Site Evaluation and Training

We try to be flexible regarding all of the programs, and can always accommodate doctors’ desires to have us do all of our evaluation work on site. We also can be flexible and on site for delivering the plans and assistance in training. It’s as simple as asking, or we can make the determination on the fly. Some professionals feel more secure while we are on site, and we want you to know we understand that and are willing to work along those lines.

Substitute Dentist

At the present time, we are asking for dentists interested in substitute dental responsibilities to submit their resumes. We hope to build a nationwide team of dentists who will be available to substitute in nearly any capacity needed.

The purpose of this program is to serve a dental practice that does not wish to give up on patient care during a doctor’s absence for any reason (vacation, illness, etc.). The absentee doctor can prescribe the desired level of care, from checking hygiene patients and assigning delegable tasks to emergency care to full patient care. We want to assist dentists in a doctor’s being able to step away from their respective practice without suffering the dramatic effects of either a closed practice or worse, an open practice with no patient care.
